Embodiment of Regret

Photobucket
Photomontage-Art-sharonlee - She Bringth
So this is a piece of failed art…  but I was still inspired to write…..

Embodiment of Regret

she bringth nightmares to your dreams
omens fall from her lips
heed not the tolling of her bell
or dripping whispers that insidiously hiss…
she’ll take your soul… and leave you empty
in broken wretched flesh
pleas are eaten by leprosy
at her every words caress…

don’t wait for the look of triumph in her eyes
she’ll trap you in a perpetual sigh
don’t linger long
 in her decaying presence
… this maiden will devour you alive…
sin-eater… maiden of remorse
mistress of deepest regret
she ‘ll keep your sorrows alive
so you will never forget…

don’t harken to her leeching touch
the souls of many she has sucked
she bringth nightmares to your days
and will consume your soul
…. if you don’t walk away….

Whispers in the Wisdom-Wind

Whispers in the Wisdom-Wind

Spirits of the ancients
wisdom-songs on the wind
vibrations shiver across the earth
they mourn what modern society brings…

whispers on the wisdom-wind
drift across this wondrous land
redirecting miss-spent energies
dispelled by the social order of man…

feel your roots’  the voices murmur
they should be bonded with this earth
share knowledge with the children
teach them the value of their birth
spread the word of unity
far across this land
teach until you can speak no more
and pray that some will understand.’

Spirits of the ancients
wisdom-songs on the wind
singing fundamental knowledge
of  how we should live within
the Earth’s home grown bounty -
- can you hear the whispers on the wisdom-wind?

An Aquarian Exposition

An Aquarian Exposition

a grizzled crow sat on a barbed wire fence
looking at me
with one blinded eye…
in his beak he held a ticket
from 1969…

An Aquarian Exposition:
3 Days of Peace & Music
in the sun…
well I’ll be damned, I said to him
trying to see in his unblinded eye
a ticket to Woodstock
from 1969…

state the obvious, the old crow muttered
I thought you were an enlightened lass
if you’re not up to this
the ticket you shall pass

I blinked at him a moment
my mind was racing like the wind
are you saying this ticket
will get me there And back again?

Only if you don’t lose it, the old crow said with a grin-
nothing to lose, are … you… in?
-I didn’t waste a heartbeat, I grinned and said ‘I’m In!’

**

I looked around at the faces
all gathered in the fire glow
‘and that’s how I got to be here
… and now you all know’

where’s the ticket now
one bedraggled youth asked
leaning in close to the fire-pit
I smiled at him and said
you know… I think I lost it……………………..

Woodstock was designed as a profit-making venture, aptly titled "Woodstock Ventures". It famously became a "free concert" only after it became obvious that the event was drawing hundreds of thousands more people than the organizers had prepared for. Tickets for the event cost $18 in advance and $24 at the gate for all three days. Around 186,000 tickets were sold before it was decided that due to massive numbers the concert would have to billed as free at the last moment.

Silly-Girl-Dreams-of-Yesterday

starshowers and moonbaths
and dances on the milky way –
wishes on the first star
- silly-girl-dreams of yesterday…

but now my dreams are grounded-
- a hand to hold as I grow old
a free spirit who  lives life
from the depth of his soul…

someone who’ll stand by my side
despite my eccentricities
walk mountain paths with me
and fly with the breeze…

a tender heart with a poets soul
… but a man of inner strength as well
gone are the silly-girl-dreams of yesterday
there are no truths that I won’t tell…

I’m getting old… it’s an honesty I face
but my tomorrows are far from end
I live my life as I do
but I’d rather share it with friend;
